Numerous Goodwill Stores, Other Facilities Close Amid Winter Storm

Many Goodwill stores, donation centers and career centers were closed Friday, Jan. 22, for the safety of employees as ice and snow blanketed middle and west Tennessee and made travel dangerous.

More than 20 of Goodwill’s 36 stores, including those in Nashville, Clarksville, Dickson, Franklin, Union City and other locations, were not expected to open. David Jenkins, Goodwill’s vice president of retail, said district managers were working with the staff of each store to determine whether they could open for business.

Most of the 70-plus Donation Express Centers operated by Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee were closed. Goodwill’s corporate headquarters in downtown Nashville and at least 10 of the 29 Goodwill Career Solutions centers across the region were also closed.

Hours at stores and Goodwill Career Solutions centers remaining open are subject to change according to the weather. Phone numbers, hours and other information for individual Goodwill stores, Career Solutions Centers and Donation Express Centers can be found online at giveit2goodwill.org.
