SUMMARY:Construction Training Begins – Jackson
DESCRIPTION:Goodwill Career Solutions will conduct a free\, four-week Construction and Weatherization Training Program from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm four days per week at its facility at 1320 S. Highland Avenue in Jackson.    \nParticipants attend classes five days per week for four weeks at one of our Goodwill facilities in West Nashville or South Jackson. Three hours of each day are spent in the classroom\, and three are spent in the workshop. The course covers safety\, construction math\, hand and power tools\, blueprints\, rigging\, weatherization\, communication\, forklift operation\, employability skills and more. Graduates receive an OSHA 10 safety certification. \nWhat You’ll Learn:\nConstruction safety\nHands-on use of hand and power tools\nReading blueprints\nBasic rigging\nConstruction math\nEmployability skills and more \nWhat You’ll Receive:\nStudents receive a stipend of $100 per week while in the program\nOSHA 10 certification\nJob placement services upon completion\nParticipants must register as a Goodwill Client and be on a free service plan with a Career Coach.
