GOODWILL STORES TO CELEBRATE BLUE FRIDAY WITH DISCOUNTS, GIVEAWAYS AND MUCH MORE

November 20 Event Offers Alternative to
Black Friday Shopping Stampedes

Holiday shoppers can avoid the stress of Black Friday crowds this year by buying gifts on Blue Friday — a day to shop thrift stores and take advantage of incredible discounts. Shoppers can get a jump on the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season with a treasure hunt for gently used brand name items while being “environmentally conscious” in their gift giving.

Blue Friday will take place Friday, Nov. 20 — one week before Black Friday. Goodwill will celebrate with discounts and giveaways in its retail stores in Middle and West Tennessee.

On Blue Friday, shoppers will be able to purchase Christmas-themed home goods, Christmas decor and Christmas linens for 50 percent off. Infant clothing will also be half off that day. All purchases will be counted toward double points for MyGoodwillRewards shoppers.

In addition, Goodwill will give away two iPad minis, Goodwill tote bags and numerous gift cards to shoppers who register to win prizes.

Finally, at checkout, Blue Friday shoppers will receive a coupon good for 20 percent off of any purchases they make during a return trip to local Goodwill stores on Black Friday (Nov. 27).

As always, when you shop at Goodwill, you help change lives through the power of work. Already this year Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee has assisted more than 32,000 people with training and employment opportunities and placed more than 11,000 into jobs.

In 2014, Goodwill through its operations diverted more 28 million pounds of salvage and recyclable material from landfills — making it one of Tennessee’s greenest organizations.

Help spread the word about Blue Friday on social media by using the hashtag:#shopblueFriday or #goodwillbluefriday!

Goodwill is a great place to shop.
We buy a lot and pick up some great buys at Goodwill. Gently used clothing and home furnishings, also toys for tot’s.
Now is a great time to shop for Christmas.
We shop weekly at Goodwill for our own benefit as well as for others.
    We highly recommend Goodwill.

Hi Jade. If you shopped on Blue Friday, you should have received a coupon for 20% off on Black Friday Nov. 27. On the back of that coupon is the registration for the iPad mini and Goodwill gift cards.
