National Retail Federation Customer Service Training

Goodwill offers a four-week training program that prepares job-seekers for rewarding careers in retail. Participants gain an understanding of the retail industry, its impact on the economy and the diverse jobs available. They also learn basic customer service skills and math skills to conduct sales transactions. Instruction occurs both in the classroom and hands-on in a Goodwill retail store. The industry-recognized curriculum was developed in collaboration with more than 20 retailers, including Macy’s, The Home Depot and Nordstrom. 

What You’ll Receive

  • $200 per week stipend during training
  • RISE Up NRF Foundation Retail Fundamentals credential (exam cost paid by Goodwill)
  • National Retail Federation Customer Service Training Certificate of Completion
  • Opportunities to interview for a retail position with Goodwill and National Retail Federation partner companies

Requirements

  • Moderate computer skills needed. Participants must pass the Northstar Computer Basics assessment before enrolling.
  • Participants must register as a Goodwill Client and be on a free service plan with a Career Coach.
  • Participants demonstrate an aptitude for, and interest in, working for retail.
