Goodwill offers a half-day Introduction to Forklift Safety and Operation Training class for participants interested in forklift operator positions in the warehousing and manufacturing industries. The class, which is taught through classroom instruction and guided, hands-on training, focuses on both forklift operation and safety.

Requirements

  • Must bring a photo ID and wear closed-toe shoes
  • Must be at least 18 years old and a registered Goodwill client

Sylvester Groves drove tanks as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, but he faced his toughest battle as a civilian during the Great Recession.

After a decade in the military, the Nashville-area native worked private-sector jobs, including one as the manager of a cleaning company. But between 2007-2010, both the U.S. economy and Sylvester suffered major setbacks.
