Goodwill offers a half-day Forklift Training Program for participants interested in forklift operator positions in the warehousing and manufacturing industries. The class, which is taught through classroom instruction and guided, hands-on training, focuses on both forklift operation and safety.

Requirements

  • Must bring a photo ID and wear closed-toe shoes
  • Must be at least 18 years old and a registered Goodwill client
  • Must agree to background check
  • $100 registration fee waived for registered Goodwill clients with a service plan
  • Participants must register as a Goodwill Client and be on a free service plan with a Career Coach

Sylvester Groves drove tanks as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, but he faced his toughest battle as a civilian during the Great Recession.

After a decade in the military, the Nashville-area native worked private-sector jobs, including one as the manager of a cleaning company. But between 2007-2010, both the U.S. economy and Sylvester suffered major setbacks.
