27 Nov Goodwill To Host Homecoming Celebration of Lebanon Retail Store Nov. 30
20,000-square-foot facility includes donation site and career center.
Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee is thrilled to announce the grand opening and homecoming of its new retail store in Lebanon. This will be the 30th retail store location for Goodwill of Middle Tennessee. The grand opening celebration will take place Thursday, November 30 at 8:30 a.m. The 20,000-square-foot building located at 1414 West Main Street will also be the home of a donation center and in-store career center.
Goodwill is inviting Lebanon residents and those in surrounding communities to join us for the grand opening. The local non-profit will be joined by Lebanon Mayor Rick Bell, Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto and the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce. The event will include a ribbon cutting, a guest appearance from the Lebanon High School cheerleaders, Goodwill’s own mascot, Goodwilly, as well as a raffle for gift cards. The first 250 shoppers will receive a FREE reusable Goodwill shopping bag. In an effort to keep sustainability front of mind, Goodwill will not provide plastic shopping bags in the store.
The new store will be Goodwill’s first store in Lebanon since its previous retail location at 1031 W. Main St. closed in 2018.
“Goodwill is so incredibly excited to be back in the Lebanon community,” said Matthew Bourlakas, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee. “Our mission of changing lives through education, training, and employment is needed now more than ever and our ability to provide a helping hand is made possible through our generous donors and those who shop our stores.”
The new facility will also include Goodwill’s 13th Career Solutions center, which will provide job-seekers with access to numerous in-person and virtual services, including resume and job search assistance, referrals to employers and training in topics ranging from financial literacy to Google IT Support Professional certification. These resources are also available to Goodwill employees.
“Any time a Goodwill customer walks inside to shop, they’ll see a Goodwill Career Center just feet away providing personalized, one-on-one job coaching,” said Chief Operating Officer Leisa Wamsley. “Any time you shop in our stores or donate, you are funding our mission of changing lives through education, training and employment.”
The store will include a contactless donation center that will allow donors to drop off items in one of four bins, including clothing/linen, home goods, shoes/handbags and books/media.
