What is the Goodwill Opportunity Center?
The Goodwill Opportunity Center is the client-services hub at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus. It offers career coaching, education, job training, resume and interview assistance, job-search support, connections to employers and referrals to other resources.
The campus serves people who are looking for their first job, a better job, a new career or new skills. Some training programs have specific eligibility or enrollment requirements. Contact us even if you are unsure whether a program is right for you.
No. Goodwill career coaching, education and job-training services are provided at no cost.
Requirements vary by service or training program. If available, bring a photo ID, your resume, work history and any relevant licenses or certificates. You do not need to have everything ready before contacting us. A Career Navigator will explain what is needed for your next step.

You may visit the campus or call to get started. Some services, classes and training programs may require an appointment or advance registration, so calling ahead is recommended.

You can meet with a Career Navigator who will ask about your experience, interests and goals. Together, you can identify your next steps, which may include career coaching, education, training, resume help, interview preparation or connections to employers.
Yes. Clients who previously received services at the Lifsey Career Solutions Center can continue receiving help from the same Goodwill team at the Opportunity Campus.

Careers and Training

Does Goodwill only help people find jobs at Goodwill?
No. Goodwill helps people prepare for and connect with jobs at employers throughout Middle Tennessee. Our goal is to help you find the right next step based on your skills, interests and goals.
Training is available for careers in construction, welding, information technology, healthcare, logistics and forklift operation. Digital and technology training is also available. Programs and start dates may vary.
Yes. Many training programs prepare participants to earn industry-recognized certifications. A Career Navigator can explain which certifications are connected to each program.
Yes. A Career Navigator can help you explore your interests, experience and strengths, learn about career options and choose a practical next step.
Goodwill works with employers and can connect qualified job seekers with current openings. Hiring needs change frequently, and placement is not guaranteed. A Career Navigator can help you identify leads that match your skills and goals.
We can guide you through an application, explain instructions and help you use the computer or online application system. You will need to provide accurate information and review and submit the application yourself.
Yes. We can help you create a resume or update an existing one. Bring your work history, education, skills and any certifications you have.

Support and Everyday Assistance

What happens if Goodwill cannot provide the resource I need?
We will talk with you about other options and, when possible, connect you with a community organization or public resource that may be able to help.
Some programs have age, eligibility, schedule, class-capacity or documentation requirements. If a specific program is not available or is not the right fit, we will discuss another service, a future class or a referral to another organization when possible.
Goodwill does not guarantee housing or direct financial assistance, but a Career Navigator may be able to connect you with organizations that provide housing, utility or other support services.
We can help you locate official unemployment resources and may be able to assist with basic online navigation. Goodwill does not determine eligibility, approve benefits or make decisions for the state unemployment program.
Limited printing may be available for documents related to your job search, education or training. Ask a team member before printing.
A team member may be able to help with basic phone tasks needed for a job search or training, such as accessing email or an online application. Goodwill does not provide general phone repair or full technical-support services.
Food is not a standard service, but snacks or meals may be offered during certain classes or events. Ask a team member what is available that day.
A child care center is planned to open in Spring 2027 for parents participating in eligible education or job-training programs. Space will be limited, and eligibility and enrollment requirements will apply.

Yes. Free parking is available at the Opportunity Campus.
Yes. The Opportunity Campus is accessible on WeGo Bus Route 9. Check the current WeGo schedule before traveling.
