30 May Beyond Jobs: Connecting Women to Better Jobs, Better Futures

Beyond Jobs is a two-year program that connects women with the tools they need to advance their careers, succeed in the workforce and achieve personal and career goals. In February, Goodwill began offering the program at six of its Career Solutions centers in Middle and West Tennessee. Since then, we have expanded the program to all 23 Career Solutions centers throughout Middle and West Tennessee. Our goal is to serve 280 women in two years – providing them with the tools they need to achieve their educational, career and financial goals.

Each woman who participates in the Beyond Jobs program will receive a career assessment which includes job training, placement services and family financial support services. Goodwill Career Solutions already offers both job training and placement services. This program takes it a step further by adding services such as financial literacy and enrichment classes.

Once participants are placed in jobs, they will receive support to retain those jobs, further their education and advance in careers within their chosen industries. Among the tools provided by the Beyond Jobs program are continued financial education and family strengthening services.

The Beyond Jobs program is funded through a grant from the Walmart Foundation. Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee is one of 45 Goodwill agencies to receive the grant.
