Goodwill Employee Takes Helm of Sunrise Rotary Club

Image_LisaLisa Baggett, a district manager for Goodwill Career Solutions, has taken on a leadership role for another organization dedicated to helping others — the Sunrise Rotary Club in Clarksville.

Since July 7, Baggett has led weekly meetings of the club, which gathers at 6:45 a.m. on Thursdays at Austin Peay State University.

“I guess I was a little nervous at first, but I don’t have a problem talking in front of people — I used to be a teacher,” she said. “Plus, I really enjoy Rotary. It’s very inspirational.”

Her co-workers at Goodwill Career Solutions recently held a party to honor her achievement.

The Sunrise Rotary Club has 36 members and is one of three Rotary Clubs in Clarksville. Baggett, who joined three years ago, has served as a member of the club’s board of directors and last year organized the registration for its biggest annual fundraiser, the Clarksville Sunrise Century Bicycle Tour.

Her goals for the club this year include increasing its membership and developing a new community service project.

As a district manager for Goodwill, Baggett oversees employees and operations at nine of the not-for-profit’s 28 Career Solutions centers, which provide free education, training and employment services. Her district includes Clarksville, Nashville’s Bellevue community, Dickson, Gallatin, Hendersonville, Madison and Springfield.

Baggett joined Goodwill in 2012 and has been a district manager for three years. Prior to that, she was associate director of education at Daymar Institute and also taught math to eighth-12th graders in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System.

Baggett is married and has two children, ages 15 and 2. She resides in Clarksville.
