31 Oct Under A Buck, Every Day: Goodwill To Offer 99 Cent Items In All Stores
Bargain-hunters, rejoice! Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee now offers a wide variety of merchandise priced at just 99 cents every day at all of its retail stores.
Thousands of items, including clothing, linens, decor, kitchenware and more, are on sale for just under a buck. These 99-cent items are marked with a tag of a particular color, and signs are posted to alert shoppers to which color indicates an item priced at 99 cents.
The 99-cent items can be found on racks and shelves throughout the store. Customers will also find a large selection of merchandise marked down to half off Goodwill’s already unbeatable prices.
Goodwill leaders made the decision to include 99-cent merchandise in all stores after conducting a 12-week test in four stores. Shoppers embraced the 99 cent concept, which includes a speedier rotation of all Goodwill stock.
“We are discounting our merchandise more quickly and more deeply so customers find even more new bargains every time they shop,” explained Chris Burr, Goodwill’s senior director of retail, “and the response from shoppers has been very encouraging.”
Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee has 34 retail stores in a territory stretching roughly from Cookeville to Union City.
All sales of donated items in Goodwill’s stores support its mission of changing lives through education, training and employment. Every purchase helps to fund career assistance and meaningful, paid work for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
