Floyd had been living the street life for more than 10 years. “I had a drug and alcohol problem, and I kept going to jail,” he said.
In 2008, Floyd reached an all-time low and decided it was time to turn his life around. At the time, he had been unemployed for two years. “It got real tough, and I made up my mind that I didn’t want to live like this anymore.”
So, he left Jackson, Tennessee, and headed to Music City for a fresh start. Floyd had been on the job hunt in Nashville for three months when someone told him about Goodwill. The very next day he stopped by the Career Solutions center on 8th Avenue.
