“There’s a ‘blind vine’,” JoAnne said with a laugh, explaining how she found Goodwill after a not-so-welcome break from the job market when she moved to Nashville from Delaware several years ago. “I heard about Goodwill from other folks in the Nashville area who are also blind. We pass information to one another.”

JoAnne enjoys her job at Goodwill’s Nashville campus, where she works hanging men’s pants. “It gets me out of the house and I’ve gained more confidence,” she said. “We’re all in the same boat. All we want is a chance to prove we can do things and that we are capable. Goodwill gave me all that and more.”
