26 Feb MyFreeTaxes – How You Can Get Assistance
If you haven’t gotten around to doing your taxes just yet, Goodwill is here to help. Through a joint partnership, funded by the Walmart Foundation, with Goodwill Industries International, United Way Worldwide and the National Disability Institute, Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee is offering free tax preparation assistance during the 2013 tax season to employees, clients and members of the community whose household income is less than $57,000.
There are three ways to file your taxes for free using MyFreeTaxes:
- You can do them on your own. Just go to www.myfreetaxes.com/gwmt.
- If you need a little assistance, you can file your own claims with instruction from a trained IRS site worker. This service is available at the Goodwill Career Solutions centers in Shelbyville, Lawrenceburg and Nashville. Please call the centers to make an appointment.
- Shelbyville: (931) 680-2879
- Lawrenceburg: (931) 762-4350
- Nashville: (615) 346-1236
- For those who aren’t comfortable using a computer, an IRS-Certified Volunteer Income Tax Preparer can help you through each step to ensure your taxes are completed correctly. This service is offered at the Nashville Career Solutions center only and is free for those whose household income is less than $50,000. All you have to do is call (615) 346-1236 to make an appointment, or use this form to e-mail us.
