Easy Looks for Fourth of July

Fourth of July is great time to bust out the stars and stripes gear, but this Independence Day I’m putting together three looks that are still festive yet not full on “Party in the U.S.A”. Though not a particularly stylish occasion, the Fourth is a great time to express your patriotic chic vibes and sport bold colors.  Whether you’re headed to a backyard barbecue, downtown fireworks, or the closest body of water, these three Goodwill looks will help you get in the stars and stripes spirit and through the long weekend in style!

For a casual day running around the Farmer’s Market or last-minute errands before a pool party, throw on a plaid shirt, denim shorts, and comfy sneakers. Plaid shirts are an easy Goodwill find and can also pull double duty as a pool coverup. I find a lot of gems in the boys’ and mens’ sections. A vintage crossbody bag from Goodwill leaves your hands free for food prepping and sparkler twirling.

Nothing screams Americana quite like denim from head to toe, and nothing screams tourist quite like the infamous “I Believe in Nashville” mural. Update your look with this season’s easy must-have, the bandanna. This breezy denim maxi dress from Goodwill is the perfect look for a backyard BBQ or a trip downtown to get my tourist on and enjoy a concert and fireworks.

If heading out to a  dressier occasion, opt for a sundress in one or two of the patriotic hues. Heck, go for all three if you’re a rebel! This J.Crew sundress from Goodwill is the perfect look for a day party or Fourth of July brunch. Flat sandals could easily be switched out with espadrilles or wedges and statement accessories for a rooftop party. Keeping the footwear casual and comfortable is a must for the holiday. Steer clear of an all white outfit  to prevent the stains that inevitably result from an overloaded hot dog and  glass of red wine.

Besides a stylin’ Goodwill outfit, don’t forget sunscreen and shades while soaking up the summer sun!  Have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!
