Mission Possible: Celebrating Goodwill Week

davidlifseyThis week, May 6-10, Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee and the other nearly 200 Goodwills around the world are celebrating Goodwill Week. What are we celebrating? The important work we do, the people we are privileged to serve and our business partners who hire our clients. During this week there will be many activities highlighting our mission of providing employment and training to people who have disabilities and others who have trouble finding and keeping jobs.

By selling the gently-used clothing and household goods you donate in stores and online, Goodwill funds job training and placement programs, and other support services such as financial education, free tax preparation and youth programs such as mentoring through 23 Career Solutions centers. Last year, over 16,000 people here in our area who were struggling to find and keep good jobs benefited from Career Solutions services funded by your donations, an annual increase of more than 22% percent. Your donations to Goodwill help people who lack education or work experience, those who have physical or mental disabilities, older workers, and others having a hard time finding employment.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we celebrate Goodwill Week. Goodwill knows that jobs change lives, and we are excited to have a week to celebrate the work we do through Career Solutions all year long.
